Abstract:
An annular plate is subjected to an in-plane tensile loading at its inner edge. The plate is made of an elasticplastic material which satisfies the Tresca yield criterion with linear isotropic hardening. The buckling load at which an out-of-plane deformation first becomes possible is found for a wide range of plate and hardening parameters. Depending upon the values of these parameters, buckling may occur in the elastic, elastic-plastic, or fully plastic stage of the in-plane deformation. Author
