Abstract:

The treatise summarizes a preliminary study of antenna beam shaping potential andor limitations, as applied to sharing of available frequency bands between satellite and terrestrial systems. Two different aspects are discussed Low energy levels outside a certain spot region on the earth, and rapid decay at the boundary of the region. These are performance characteristics generally related to antenna configuration and design. Not discussed is the problem of over and under illumination of oddly shaped geographical areas. Author
