Abstract:
A study was made of electron emission from a pointed molybdenum cathode and a flat cathode, using voltage-pulse generators for the attainment of an electron current amplitude of 5 kA. Associated vacuum chamber was pumped to a given pressure. Determinations were made of delay time in the appearance of electron current and the specific mass of metal transported from the pointed electrode. Emission from the point electrode was found not to be autoelectronic in nature. Author
