Abstract:

The calculations for the WBP model for d,p reactions have been refined to include contributions from the deuteron D-state, non-local nucleon-nucleus optical model potentials, a finite range neutron-proton interaction Vnp and a realistic Hamada-Johnston deuteron wave function. With these refinements the model was tested as a tool for analysing stripping reaction measurements. It was shown to reproduce the angle dependence of the measured vector analyzing power, polarization and differential cross sections for d,p and d,n reactions in which the final state is known to be predominantly a 2s12, 3s12, 1p12, 2p12, 2p12, 2p32, 1d52, 2d52, or 1f72 shell model state. Spectroscopic factors were also extracted. Their values were independent of the deuteron energy and were compatible with results from nuclear structure calculations. The errors in these values due to ambiguities in the optical potential parameters were typically or 15. Author
