Ethyl alcohol was given to 14 human subjects in a manner designed to provide a pair of elimination rate data at each of two doses. At the same dose the rate varied by 17 between trials increasing the dose from 0.75 mlkg to 1.5 or 1.7 mlkg caused the elimination rate to increase by 47 and using the extreme high and low rates for each individual the mean rate increase was 67. The elimination rate was positively related to dose or the highest blood concentration of alcohol. Author
