Abstract:
An analysis of the mechanism involved in homogeneous and catalyzed heterogeneous hydrogen-air combustion is discussed. The parameters and materials which allow andor promote ambient temperature combustion are identified. A brief discussion of mass and energy transport at a heated surface catalytic and noncatalytic is presented. Ambient temperature combustion of a hydrogen-air mixture can occur if an active noble metal catalyst is present. Author
