Abstract:
Approximately 48 cu yds of concrete were placed in the outlet platform walls of the Ensley Pumping Station between elevation 199.0 and 208.75. During extremely cold weather on the night of 16 January 1965, while this concrete was being protected by tarpaulins, the tarpaulins caught fire and in turn ignited the plywood forms. The report reviews the inspection sampling and tests of the fire damage. Author
