Abstract:

Hybrid computer programs were developed to accept data in analog form and simultaneously to perform selected analysis and reduction procedures in real time, the results appearing as continuous analog outputs. Analog circuits with parallel logic removed interference spikes from the original data and formed continuous records of the average and root-mean-square values of each of two input signals plus the correlation coefficient of these two signals. Hybrid programs calculated, and outputed as a repetitive cathode-ray-tube display, the amplitude probability density and the autocrosscorrelation function. Parallel hybrid circuits continuously detected the peak values of the repetitive correlation displays, and the values of time shift at which the peaks occurred, and produced continuous strip-chart records of these quantities.
