Abstract:

The high resolution electronic absorption spectrum of 3,3-bromomethyl-d3-diazirine is presented. A vibrational analysis is given for the allowed singlet-singlet pi from n system with its 0-0 band at 28 280cm. Fundamental frequencies are compared with those of the normal molecule. The symmetrical NN stretching vibration is the most prominent feature observed. Evidence is also presented for another electronic system 68cm to the red of the singlet-singlet system. Author
