Abstract:
The report evaluates current knowledge of the probable ecological effects of various type of offshore construction. The greatest danger seem to lie in the placement of artificial islands within or too closely adjacent to estuaries where they can significantly effect water exchange, and in the proliferation of water cooled nuclear power plants. The effects on marine biology and water quality are discussed. Included in an annotated bibliography of 284 references. Author
