Abstract:

The directory concerns defined programs which store and retrieve data and information of interest to a bench engineer. Emphasis is on the equipment and storage media in use as well as the technical scope of the data base. Over 500 programs within the federal government and private industry are noted. Of these, 68 programs are described in detail, noting the media in which data is stored, organization of the file, and retrieval equipment characteristics. Another 442 programs are identified and listed with references to other directories. Technical libraries, management information systems and fiscal control systems were not included in the scope of this effort. Author
