Abstract:

The report is an attempt to formulate adequate conceptual methodological foundations for prescriptive science. Prescriptive science is a mode of rational analysis capable of encompassing valuative as well as factual aspects of optimal decision. The principal problems encountered are essentially metascientific in scope. Major issues are characterised by a degree of generality beyond the immediate concern of any specific scientific discipline.
