The Effects of Oceanic Fronts on Properties of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer

The theories of Mosby and Amot on the response of boundary layer properties are applied to the computation of air temperature and water vapor pressure at a height of 10 m. above the sea surface. The effects of different empirical constants on the equilibrium differences of the sea and air temperatures and water vapor pressure, were investigated numerically. The application of the Amot-Mosby theory provides a method for synoptic numerical analysisforecasting of surface air temperature and water vapor pressure over the oceans.
