Abstract:

The report covers the engineer design tests of a precision copy camera designed for the production of high-precision film chips or continuous filmstrips ranging in size from 35 mm by 60 mm up to 9 by 9 inches. This report evaluates the resolution, distortion, parallelism, scale accuracy and other capabilities of the camera and system for use in the reduction of maps, charts, mosaics, or other flat color or black-and-white material up to a maximum size of 75 by 75 inches. The report concludes that a The micromap camera for display systems meets all the requirements of the purchase description and is suitable for the reduction of topographic data in the various formats as stated herein. b The micromap camera for display systems utilizes standard photographic films and processes acceptable for Army base plant use. c The camera represents a major advancement in the state of the art in microminiaturization.
