A Survey of Data for Turbulent Boundary Layers With Mass Transfer,
RAND CORP SANTA MONICA CALIF
Pagination or Media Count:
A critical survey is made of available experimental data on turbulent boundary layers with mass transfer in the absence of complicating factors such as compressibility and pressure gradient. Two approaches to the data show particular promise. The first is the mixing-length approach. The second is an attempt to generalize the kind of analysis often used for free shear flows such as wakes or jets. The essential step is definition of a characteristics velocity in terms of a characteristic stress which occurs somewhere in the layer.
