The fundamental objective of this study is to develop numerical techniques to treat the general two-dimensional stress wave propagation problem through nonlinear earth materials including the effects of water flow through the earth materials. Topics discussed include the following Governing system equations Solution procedure Numerical results One-dimensional elastic consolidation Triaxial elastic soil consolidation Triaxial Coulomb-Mohr model, and McCormick Ranch Sand model.
