Abstract:

The microwave spectra of calcium-fluoride doped with hydrogen as well as with gadolinium have been measured and the spin-Hamiltonian constants for the cubic and tetragonal spectra have been determined. Similar measurements have been made with calcium fluoride doubly doped with hydrogen and gadolinium. Again, the spin-Hamiltonian constants have been determined for the different spectra and temperature ranges. Using the spin-echo method, the phase memory times for individual hydrogen and gadolinium lines have been measured for the doubly doped CaF2 crystal. These relaxation time measurements have been related to existing theories. The microwave spectra of iron doped lead titanate have been measured at frequencies between 30 GHz and 75 GHz. The spin-Hamiltonian constants have been determined from the constants have been determined from the measurements and have been related to the relative deformations by the internal electric field of this ferroelectric crystal.
