Abstract:

The Hungaria patent describes a procedure for the preparation of polyolefin-base detergent lubricating oil additive with high cation content. The preparation occurs from the reaction of a polyolefin and phosphorus pentasulfide. The principle of this invention is that acids are formed as the products of a reaction between a polyolefin and phosphorous pentasulfide which has been partially hydrolyzed with water vapor. The acid products obtained in this way are then neutralized by one or more of the following compounds alkali metal oxides, alkaline earth metal oxides, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum salts, ammonium hydroxide.
