Abstract:

In the article the authors present the results of investigations on the production and properties of bleached sulfate pulps from pine wood, birchwood, and various blends of these raw materials. The degree of dilution, productivity, viscosity, color, and the resistance features of the respective pulps were evaluated. The authors determined the indicant and absolute demand for active chlorine in their bleaching process up to 86 to 90 percent of brightness by the CEHDED method. The report lists data concerning the characteristics of bleached pulps, the influence of the share of birch fibers in the pulp, and the influence of the presence of chlorine dioxide in the total amount of active chlorine used for bleaching.
