Abstract:

AIDS is a computer software package designed to provide data management capabilities to a wide variety of users. It is written primarily in COBOL and is designed and implemented on the Honeywell G-635. This system, originally developed for NASA by General Electric Co., Apollo Systems Division, was named Manned Space Flight-Data Processing System MSF-DPS. Modifications were made to improve the capabilities of MSF-DPS. These modifications, designed to meet interim requirements of the Air Force Data Services Center AFACS, provide a responsive, versatile data management system for users of Honeywell GE 600 series computers. This technical report, designed for users of AIDS, details the features of this system and provides examples of its use. Detailed system description installation, maintenance, internal linkages, etc. are not contained in this report.
