Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to explain in detail in detail the design, construction, and proper use of a pressure-regulating system. Investigations of the characteristics of the Rockwell Model 503 control valve revealed that one e-in. Rockwell Model 503 control valve could be used to control the four pipeline cases of operation. By equipping the 3-in. Rockwell Model 503 control valve with two excess-flow pilots, the need for two orifices is avoided. It is recommended that certain tests be conducted to verify calculated relationships between the flow rate and the orifice differential pressure which actuates the excess-flow pilots. Detailed procedures are presented for the location, installation, and operation of the pressure- regulating systems. A calibration test is recommended to obtain calibration charts that will aid in the adjustment of the system.
