Techniques were developed for fabricating carbon fiber composites using high temperature, phenylated polyquinoxaline resin. Composites with interlaminar shear and flexural strangths about 80 of those for similar epoxy composites were obtained. Heat aging at 343 C in air, revealed excellent initial strength trretention. After 168 hours at 343 C., the resin matrix had degraded sufficiently to cause loss of more than half of the composite shear strength and flexural strength. Author, modified-PL
