Abstract:
Project Pre-Gondola III Phase II was a row-crater experiment conducted on 30 October 1968 by the U.S. Army Enginneer Nuclear Cratering Group at a site near Fort Peck, Montana. The primary experimental objective was to form a row-crater which would smoothly connect to the crater formed by a previous row-charge detonation, Pre-Gondola II. The row-charge consisted of seven 30-ton charges of nitromethane. These were emplaced in the clay-shald medium at depths averaging 53 ft with a typical horizontal spacing of 86 ft. Author
