Abstract:
The report deals with the solution of certain problems in fluid mechanics by power-series expansion of the solution in the independent VARIABLEs. The method is directly related to the well-known Frobenius method for determining analytic solutions of linear ordinary differential equations. However, here the authors apply it to nonlinear systems of differential equations in as many as three independent variables. In consequence, the recursion formulas for the series coefficients are relatively complicated, and an electronic computer is required to effect and to store their solution.
