Abstract:
Study for the drag reduction effect by use of MHD boundary-layer control had been carried out by the present investigators, with the assumption of non-zero electric field. The momentum integral method was used to obtain an optimum magnetic field distribution which would maintain a laminar boundary layer. The best solution to the drag reduction problem may be obtained by combining noise-free magnetohydrodynamic boundary-layer control, and suction andor injection of ferromagnetic fluid. With this application in mind, two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic boundary-layer flow with suction or injection is studied. Author
