The report considers the feasibility of using computer models for developing expedient soil stabilization techniques. Of major importance is the increase in soil strength necessary to provide specified degrees of vehicle mobility and dust or erosion control. The merits of pursuing this task at the molecular level are considered and it si decided that application of electro- chemical theory is not warranted at this time. A mechanistic approach, based upon finite element technology is suggested.
