The purpose of the study was to determine the penetration characteristics of a 0.3-micron-diameter liquid dioctylphthalate DOP aerosol through four types of US Army mask filter mats as a function of variables, such as flow velocity, filter thickness, and pressure drop, and to develop in accord with present theory those mathematical relations which quantitatively express the experimental data.
