The main objectives of the investigation were 1 to correlate the elastic parameters and infrared vibrational spectra with the compositional and structural variations in glass, 2 to study the role of SiO2 content in anomalous behavior of silica-rich glasses, 3 to investigate the elastic behavior as function of pressure and temperature and interpret this behavior in terms of any structural change, and 4 to investigate the time effect of pressure on the properties of glass.
