Abstract:

Lateral buckling stability of the equilibrium position of an elastic beam with narrow cross section, acted upon by a transversal follower force, is investigated. The beam clamped on one end has constant mass distribution over the length, and a concentrated mass fixed in a cross section. In the same cross section a follower force is acting, the direction of the force depends on the angle of twist of the cross section. Author
