Abstract:
By means of a Beltrami transformation of the coordinates to new variable, the system of the gas-dynamic equation and the equation for irrotation becomes a Cauchy-Riemann system. Solutions of the Cauchy-Riemann system for the velocity functions as well as of the Beltrami system for the coordinates are given and can be superimposed due to the linearity of the systems. Thus, a number of so far known transonic flows and a number of new ones can be represented in a simple manner.
