Dual-tracked parachute soundings two independent FPS-16 radars tracking the same parachute and temperature soundings obtained within four hours of each other at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico are used to estimate the error characteristics of the stratospheric wind velocity components and temperature measurements. It is found that a red noise model adequately describes the underlying structure of the errors. Author
