Abstract:

Solution of the problem of determining the bearing capacity of a radial gas bearing with an injection line through which gas is fed into the lubricating layer. Two methods of feeding gas through the injection line are considered 1 Feeding the gas directly into the lubricating layer without throttling, and 2 Feeding the gas into an annular groove with throttling. In both cases the pressure at the entrance to the lubricating layer does not depend on the peripheral coordinate. A solution to the Reynolds Equation is obtained by the Galerkin Method.
