A Numerical Solution for Flow Between Rotating and Stationary Finite Disks

The velocity field and pressure distribution between stationary and rotating finite disks are obtained by a finite difference solution of the Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equation using an explicit scheme developed by Chorin. These numerical results are compared with the results of infinite disk solutions. In the range of interest for viscometer applications, the velocity and pressure are adequately represented by the infinite disk solutions.
