The report presents results of tests to determine the voltage required for very short pulses to fire the squibs used in certain types of explosive switches. Pulses of 40 and 500 nanoseconds indicate that the firing energy is approximately constant and the firing voltage is related to the bridgewire resistance. It is also shown that pulses below the firing level affect both the bridgewire resistance and the squib sensitivity. Author
