Abstract:

Using the improved method for predicting plate load bearing capacity developed in a previous paper, this study applies this technique to the prediction of rigid wheel performance in soft soils. Good correlation is obtained between experimental and predicted results for wheel sinkage, required input torque and rolling resistance at zero slip in sand. Author
