Abstract:
It is known that molybdenum disulfide MoS2, a solid lubricating material with laminar structure, maintains lubricating properties very well at increased temperatures and pressures, and ensures a low friction coefficient. The study was made to determine the effect of adding dispersed molybdenum disulfide on the lubricating properties of machine oils. Tests were made on a type MI1M friction engine. In the tests highly dispersed molybdenum disulfide power was used with the following chemical composition MOS2 -- 99.5, SiO2 --0.02, R2O3 -- 0.1, CaO MgO -- 0.1, and pH -- 6.0.
