The report contains an investigation of the temperature field in a material with steady state evaporation using a surface or volumetric heat source a laser beam or an electron beam. Relationships are derived, which describe the temperature distribution in strongly and weakly absorbing materials. It is demonstrated that the temperature distribution does not have a maximum within the material, if maximum intensity of the heat source occurs on the sublimating surface. Author
