Abstract:

Comparative strength tests were performed of the operating life of drills working various types of steels. The results of the tests showed that the use of solid lubricants in the form of coatings on the surfaces of the tools can have a significant economic effect. The coatings used included molybdenum disulfide, lead, lead oxide and graphite.
