It is of interest to conduct x-ray spectral studies of TiFe, TiCo, and TiNi and to compare the spectra obtained with each other and with the theoretical density of states curve obtained by the augmented plane wave method for nonmagnetic bcc iron this will show whether or not the K Beta5 bands and the initial absorption regions correspond in shape to the NE curve when there is subsequent occupation of the hybridized dsp band in TiCo and TiNi with electron concentration greater than six electrons per atom.
