The research proposed for this project involved five problems in theoretical solid state physics 1 the study of spin waves in a model metallic ferromagnetic of face centered cubic structure 2 the determination of the formation energy of a vacancy-interstitial pair in silicon 3 a calculation of the wave function of donor states in gallium antimonide 4 the investigation of exciton states in lithium and potassium bromide and 5 the study of the semi-conductor to metal transition in nickel sulfide.
