The research performance consisted of four principal phases a the study of available methods of instrumenting ship hull deformation velocity as a dynamical response to an underwater explosion b the analysis of several measuring systems for instrumenting such deformation c the design of a device for the measurement of response velocity, using a viscous medium for damping and suspension of a moving armature and d construction and testing of this device to determine the degree to which it is applicable to the needs of the Underwater Explosion Research Laboratory.
