A study of the parameters involved in electron scattering experiments with gaseous targets at the Naval Postgraduate School Linear Accelerator was conducted. The parameters included gas densities, effective target thicknesses, and radiative corrections to experimental cross-section calculations. To compare the NPGLINAC with other accelerators, an electron scattering experiment was performed, using a hydrogen-helium gas mixture target, at values of q squared from 0.10 to 0.55 F sup-2. The resulting charge form factor for helium was fairly consistent with previous experimental models however, it was concluded that experiments using separate gas targets yield greater accuracy than those using a gas mixture.
