Abstract:

The purpose of the project was to establish the relative merits of different methods of calculating the air forces on oscillating wings, and to provide a standard which can be used in the future for comparison or test purposes. When comparing the different calculating values it is important to know the possible causes of any differences in the values. Such differences may be due to differences in the method, the method parameter values used e.g. number of collocation points, and the computer and computer program.
