Abstract:

The sensor described in this paper uses the revolution of the vehicle to get an accurate determination of the attitude over a wide range of angles. The system consists of two slot-sensors. The fields of view of these sensors are inclined against each other. It delivers four pulses per revolution in the normal case. These pulses are interpreted by a logic circuit, which indicates the declinations of the sun and the earth and the length of the earth with respect to the sun.
