Abstract:

Laboratory and inplant tests conducted at benefication plants of the Donbas confirmed that the parts of slurry pumps cast from an IChKh28N2 alloy containing C 2.4, Si 0.89, Mn 0.51, Cr 34.5, Ni 3.16, and P 0.08 percent Brinell hardness no. 444-77 exhibited a higher wear resistance than parts made of 5 other alloys tested. The service life of parts made of the IChKh28N2 alloy was 15 times longer than that of parts made of grade SCh15-32 gray cast iron. It is recommended that precision casting be employed to eliminate mech. treatment. Author
