Effects of Dieldrin upon the Delayed Response Performance of Rhesus Monkeys (Macca mulatta).
Technical rept. Jun 70-Jan 71,
EDGEWOOD ARSENAL MD
Pagination or Media Count:
Rhesus monkeys were trained on a 10-second delayed response test in the Wisconsin General Test Apparatus. Single 4-mgkg 12 LD50 intravenous or repeated 2-mgkg intramuscular injections of the chlorinated hydrocarbon dieldrin were then administered. These injections did not consistently affect the animals abilities to attend to the experimenter, the latencies between presentation of stimuli and responses, or the number of correct responses. The results indicate a need to develop more sensitive tests for the analysis of behavioral effects of such chemical compounds. Author
