Abstract:
The isotopic cluster to be expected for the molecular ion of decachlororuthenocene has been evaluated through a statistical approach. Ruthenium has seven naturally occurring isotopes of mass 96, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102 and 104 having a natural abundance of 5.51, 1.87, 12.72, 12.62, 17.07, 31.61 and 18.58, respectively. Chlorine has two isotopes of mass 35 and 37 with a natural abundance of 75.4 and 24.6, while the two isotopes of carbon of mass 12 and 13 have a natural abundance of 98.89 and 1.11, respectively. The complete details of the calculations have been incorporated. A graph has been finally drawn after normalizing the above data. The applicability of this method has been discussed. Author
