Strained small ring systems were investigated as possible group constituents in synthetic high energy fuels. Thermodynamic properties of cyclopropylamine and oxetane were determined from a comprehensive investigation of the heat capacities and heats of transition in condensed phases, the enthalpies of formation, and vapor pressure relations. Gibbs energies and equilibrium constant of formation were calculated for the gas phase at 298.15K. A comparison of the effects on enthalpy of formation of alkyl-substituted, aliphatic ring systems was made for cyclopropanes, cyclopentanes, and cyclohexanes. The enthalpy of combustion and formation was reported for six alkyl-substituted cyclopropanes. Vapor pressures and the enthalpy of vaporization were determined for 1,2-diaminoethane. Author
