The wear resistance of the chromium alloys in the process of pressing refractory parts was investigated. The presence of a large amount of coarse primary chromium carbides requires a greater expenditure of alloying elements, which in turn weakens the base and lowers the resistance to wear. The wear resistance can be improved by the presence of other carbides in amount sufficient to ensure uniform distribution of all the structural components.
