The entire Noyo Cove at the mouth of Noyo River, the lower 0.8 mile of Noyo River, and sufficient coastline and offshore bathymetry to permit accurate simulation of storm-wave attack in the area were reproduced in a 1100-scale hydraulic model, equipped with wave-generating and wave-height-measuring devices, used to predict the efficacy of several proposed breadwater plans in providing suitable protection to sea-going lumber barges, which would be moored along a proposed inner-harbor pier, during periods of storm-wave attack.
